St. Anton not only offers endless groomed slopes for all abilities, but also modern cable cars (the world’s first Ferris-wheel funitel, Galzigbahn) and superb panoramic views of the Arlberg region. The largest ski area in Austria, and one of the five biggest in the world, Arlberg is home to three ski resorts: St. Anton – St. Christoph – Stuben, Lech – Oberlech – Zürs and Warth – Schröcken.
Challenge yourself and check out Run of Fame, the longest ski circuit in the Alps. Dedicated to ski pioneers, athletes and celebrities who have left their mark on the slopes, the 85km circuit takes you through three mountain passes – Arlberg, Flexen and Hochtannberg. You can start at any point by simply following the Run of Fame signs and it takes an average of a day to complete. Don’t forget to stop by its exhibition, Hall of Fame (Flexenbahn/Trittkopfbahn I Mountain Station) and the mountain hut restaurants along the way to recharge!
Families can head to the various practice and children areas to improve their skills. Beginners, too, can also enjoy the scenic views while learning how to ski or snowboard at Gampen T-bar lift area.
